Significant HIPAA Dates
for Healthcare Providers

Each HIPAA regulation becomes effective 60 days after the final regulation is issued by the Department of Health and Human Services. Compliance is required two years after the effective date of the regulation.

If no date is shown in a box, the regulation has not yet reached that stage of development.
