Director/Sr. Attorney

AVAILABILITY: Immediately

HOURS: Full time - 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, flex time available

SALARY: Grade and salary range for this position will depend on background and skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director/Sr. Attorney promotes consistency in coverage positions in Claim  as well as general support to the Claim VP primarily in the area of coverage.  Provides legal counsel to the corporation and its subsidiaries.  Supports the MMIC Health IT and MMIC Agency boards of directors, including preparing resolutions and minutes. Maintains corporate documents.  Provides contracting support for Claim and ARTS Department.  Supervises paralegal position.

QUALIFICATIONS: Juris doctorate from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law.  Achievement of Certified Corporate Compliance & Ethics Professional designation.  Ten years legal experience.  At least eight years insurance experience.  Ability to work effectively under the stress of an intensely deadline driven environment.  A positive, can-do attitude and ownership spirit with ability to have fun, while all the time meeting the needs of the business are necessary traits for this individual to be successful in this role.
