Senior Claim Consultant

AVAILABILITY: Immediately

HOURS: Full time - 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, flex time available

SALARY: DOQ

RESPONSIBILITIES: Investigates and analyzes assigned claims to determine accurate assessments of coverage, appropriately identified coverage, given the circumstance, and adequate assessments of liability exposure and financial damages. Completes reserve and settlement evaluations on appropriate and timely basis. Conducts negotiations and settles claims in an expedient manner or facilitates a creative alternative resolution. Manages litigation process. This is a telecommuting position, located in Kansas or the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Minimum of 7 years’ professional/medical liability claims experience. Advanced medical terminology. Excellent verbal and written skills, negotiation skills, some insurance and law tort. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. A positive, can-do attitude and ownership spirit with ability to have fun, while all the time meeting the needs of the business are necessary traits for this individual to be successful in this role. Must have a valid driver’s license. Some travel involved, sometimes on short notice.
