Staff Accountant

AVAILABILITY: Immediately

HOURS: Full time - 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, flex time available

SALARY: DOQ

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the processing and maintenance of the Company’s investment accounting function.  Assist in the preparation of the GAAP and statutory financial reports.  Assist in the examination by outside financial auditors including preparation of lead schedules and assist with other various requests.  Assist with loss and premium analysis, month-end close, maintenance and testing of controls, policies and procedures, and maintenance of fixed assets.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in accounting. One to three years accounting & financial reporting experience preferably in the P/C insurance industry. Excellent Excel and p/c skills and ability to readily understand client/server based systems. Ability to work effectively under the stress of an intensely deadline driven environment.  Prior experience with insurance accounting software applications and insurance company statutory reporting a plus.
