Departments at MMIC

At MMIC you have the opportunity of working in one of many dynamic departments.  However, we’re such a close-working organization that whatever department you join, you’ll work with all our different departments at one time or another.

• Claim
  • The Claim Department objective is to vigorously protect the interests of our policyholders. Claim professionals thoroughly investigate, evaluate and dispose of a wide variety of medical professional claims, while providing our customers with guidance, education and expert advice throughout the entire claim and litigation management process.  
    
    
• Finance
  • The Finance Department performs accounting, reinsurance, tax, actuarial and financial reporting and analysis functions as well as various projects. Significant projects include data warehouse, predictive modeling, company restructures, internal audit evaluation, outsourcing investment accounting, annual audits and accounting & financial systems evaluations and implementations.  Many of its activities are coordinated with and overseen by the Audit & Budget and Investment Committees of the Board of Directors.
    
    
• Human Resources
  • The Human Resources Department is a partner to all departments within MMIC.  HR leads the effort to leverage compensation, benefits, work-life balance, performance and recognition, career development and training, employee relations and compliance to make MMIC the great workplace that it is.  These efforts enable us to not only attract, but motivate and retain top talent.
    
    
• Information Technology
  • The Information Technology Department manages the computer and telecommunication systems of MMIC and provides our staff with technical support. They make sure our technology is running efficiently so that we can serve our clients effectively.
    
    
• Law and Health Policy
  • The Law and Health Policy Department monitors the healthcare and legal environment, handles corporate legal issues and spearheads collaborations to promote the practice of good medicine for MMIC Group .
    
    
• MMIC Health IT
  • MMIC Health IT partners with our clients to provide electronic health records (EHR) consulting, IT outsourcing, interoperability services, website development, and NextGen® EHR and Practice Management systems. These services help solve our clients’ technology challenges to they can focus on their patients.
    
    
• Risk Management
  • The Risk Management Department partners with our clients in promoting safety and minimizing risk to improve patient outcomes and reduce the threat of medical professional liability claims. Services are designed to meet the unique needs of individual clients and include a variety of consultation and education tools.
    
    
• Sales, Marketing and Communications
  • The primary focus of the Sales, Marketing and Communications team is to establish new business and maintain current clients through networking, trade show exhibits, meetings and client service visits. The department is also responsible for company communications, public relations and promotions.
    
    
• Underwriting
  • The Underwriting Department is responsible for determining the acceptability of insurance risk, rate promulgation for each state, pricing individual new and renewal accounts and developing new insurance products.
