HIPAA security

As a health care provider, your top priority is providing safe, effective patient care. And part of that care includes keeping your patients’ personal health information secure and confidential in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Through our HIPAA security consulting services, we’ve helped many organizations identify common gaps and implement changes to meet HIPAA requirements, helping to protect people, information, technology and practices.

HIPAA security assessments

Our HIPAA security experts will conduct an assessment of your organization against current regulations (HIPAA Security Standards, Final Rule – 45 CFR Parts 160, 162 and 164). The assessment includes a non-technical evaluation and policy review, as well as interviews with your IT and administrative resources. After our in-depth analysis, you’ll receive a final report that includes a scorecard and compliance strategy recommendations.

HIPAA security risk analyses

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) sets the standards for implementing and certifying EHR technologies. To achieve Meaningful Use, EHR systems must be certified to be sure they are capable of performing the required functions.

As part of that certification, each Meaningful Use Stage defines a requirement for eligible providers and hospitals to conduct a security risk analysis. Even organizations not attesting to Meaningful Use are required to perform this analysis on a routine basis under HIPAA guidelines.

We can help. Our security experts can perform a security risk analysis to help your organization prepare for Meaningful Use certification.
